JSA PRE-TEEN COUNSELLING CAMP
We appreciate your interest in the Junior Shapers Africa (JSA) Pre-Teen Counselling Camp. At JSA, we mentor, groom, counsel, and empower young ones to become Behaviour Change Agents in their immediate environments to solve the little problems around them. We recognize the role of parents in all of this and we work together with parents to sustain and reinforce their teachings at home. As they progress through our programme, we trust that they will become worthy JSA Change Ambassadors and continue to show improved signs of growth through the application of JSA values and teachings.
ABOUT JSA PRE-TEEN COUNSELLING:
The Pre-Teen Counselling Camp is a 5-day intensive Bootcamp programme for boys and girls aged between 8-12 years to inspire and counsel young children objectively before they enter their formative years and transition from childhood to adolescence. They will be provided counselling on sensitive issues affecting them and be equipped with knowledge on the dos’ and donts’ to shape up curious minds prior to their teen years. Lessons on coexisting with each other and barriers/boundaries to know for both genders. The Counselling Camp will be held on the theme “Shaping Young Curious Minds, Godly Leaders & Change Makers” from Tuesday 14th April to Saturday 18th April 2020.
PRE-TEEN COUNSELLING SUBJECT AREAS:
There will be tete-a-tete sessions with counselors whereby they will be able to ask all their sensitive questions on the issues they are facing in their daily lives for guidance and solutions. There will also be teachings on various topics to equip them with soft skills and a mindset to prepare them for leadership, career, self-employment & social entrepreneurship as they get to interact with a variety of mentors, counselors and entrepreneurs to prepare them for the next stage of their lives. Our value group sessions will also take place and each group will work on special performances to be delivered during the graduation.
Aside formal education, 21st century pre-teens also require value added education in the form of personal development training, mentoring and counselling to enable them improve their general well-being and to achieve their full potential as young men.
JSA Young Change Makers Expo and Awards (Inspiring Behaviour Change)
As part of activities to climax the camp and graduation, we would be organising the maiden JSA Young Change Makers Expo and Awards to inspire behaviour change and promote social entrepreneurship on 18th April 2020. This will be an exhibition for participants to display and sell their unique products to the general public. On display will be innovative products made from recycled plastic, paper, agricultural products and other eco-friendly materials. Exhibitors will also share some insight on the inspiration behind their work and awards will be given for outstanding work. The theme for the Expo is “Powering Behaviour Change Through A Climate Conscious Generation”. Individuals and organisations involved with productive plastics and paper works will also be at the expo to display their works to the general public.
We hope this meets you well and we ask for your full cooperation as we embark on this journey to help shape our children to become the responsible adults we desire to have in our society. We implore parents to continue to encourage and enforce whatever is taught to the children at JSA. Many thanks for your immense support as always.
